Miomir Kecmanovic will aim to win his first match of 2026. He takes on fellow unseeded player Pablo Carreno Busta in round one of the ATP indoor hard court tournament in Montpellier. Time for our match prediction.

Whoever wins this match will take on fourth seed Tallon Griekspoor in round two.

Kecmanovic has lost all three of his matches this year, all played on an outdoor hard court. He's not had easy draws with opponents including Valentin Vacherot and Tomas Martin Etcheverry. He took the latter to five sets in the Australian Open, so is knocking on the door.

His last indoor tournament was last November, reaching the last eight in Athens. He's 69th in the live rankings and that's 31 places above his opponent. Kecmanovic has won his two previous matches against Busta. Both were played four years ago on outdoor hard courts.

Pablo Carreno Busta has only played on this surface nine times in the past three years, winning just three of them. This year began with a couple of qualifying wins in Brisbane but the Spaniard has lost three matches in a row since then, most recently a five-set loss to Jakub Mensik.
