Monday Night Football in the NFL’s week 12 sees an NFC North matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears at the U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings are sitting second in the division with a 6-5 record while the Bears are rock-bottom at 3-8. A win for the hosts would give them a huge boost in their playoff hopes as they try to keep pace with the division leading Lions. Minnesota have really turned things around following a slow start to the year which saw them come out of the gates with a 1-4 start. A five game winning streak thrust the right back into the postseason hunt before seeing their run come to an end last weekend. The Vikes squandered a fourth-quarter lead to lose 21-20 to Denver on the road. They’ll now return home where they are 2-3 on the year to take on a division opponent in the Bears who they already beat earlier this season.

The Chicago Bears look set for a third straight losing season as they’ve struggled to get any kind of consistency going this year. Things were doomed almost right from the start as they lost their first four games of the 2023/24 season before picking up their first win in week five. While they’ve certainly been poor on the whole, they’ve actually managed to put forward some decent performance in the last few weeks. They were tied with the Saints heading into the fourth quarter three weeks ago, beat the Panthers two weeks ago and almost pulled off a big upset win over the Lions last week. Additionally, Chicago got their starting quarterback Justin Fields back after over a month with a thumb injury. Fields played very well in his first game back, throwing for 163 yards and a touchdown while adding another 103 yards rushing. The result was a 31-26 loss to a very good Lions team which saw the Bears actually leading going into the fourth quarter.
