The second semi-final first-leg clash in the Finals series of the A-League will see Melbourne Victory taking on Auckland FC at AAMI Park on Saturday. The winner of this tie between the Big V and the Black Knights will face either Western United or Melbourne City in the Grand Final. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Melbourne Victory are back in the semi-final for a second consecutive year and will be hoping to go one better, having lost to Central Coast Mariners in the final last season. 

Victory enter this match off the back of a 2-1 win against Western Sydney Wanderers in the Elimination-finals, thanks to goals in each half by Kasey Bos and Zinedine Machach.

That result took the hosts to three games unbeaten. However, they have failed to win their last two home games, one of which ended in a 2-0 defeat to their upcoming opponent. 

Meanwhile, it has been a dream first season in the top flight for Auckland, who proved too good for the rest and were crowned A-League Premiers with 53 points during the regular season. 

The Black Knights lost their final match of the season 4-2 on the roa to Western United, but they had already clinched the title by then. It was also the seventh match in 10 they scored two or more goals. 

Prior to the defeat to Western, the visitors had gone 14 games without defeat (W8 D6 L0). They have also scored two or more goals in each of their last four away games.
