It's been a week of surprises in the WTA outdoor clay court tournament being played in Rabat. Two unseeded players meet in the final as Maya Joint takes on Jaqueline Cristian. Here's our match prediction.
Jaqueline Cristian is up to 59th in the live rankings. That's just two places below her career-high and winning this tournament will take her up to 53rd. The Romanian is playing in her first WTA Tour clay court final. One hard court title has already been won by her this year.
To get to this final, the 26-year-old has only dropped one set in Rabat. That was in Friday's semi-final when coming from a set down to beat second-seeded Camila Osorio.
Maya Joint has already won one title in Rabat this week. Friday saw her win the doubles title and now the Australian goes for the double in the singles. The 19-year-old has climbed to a career-high 61st after making it to her first WTA Tour final.
Joint has shown good form this week with two seeds being beaten. A win over ninth-seeded Katie Volynets was followed by a win over fourth seed Ann Li. In both wins, only three games were lost.
In the semi-final, Joint won the first set against Ajla Tomljanovic who then retired. We tip Joint to win this final.
