Top seed Maria Bouzkova faces Kamilla Rakhimova, the eighth seed, in the Copa Colsanitas semi final in Bogota. The Czech right hander has put a series of unimpressive displays in recent tournaments behind her as she has made an excellent return to clay. She was pushed by Laura Siegemund in the quarterfinal, winning 2-6, 6-2, 7-5. A win here would see her reach her first ever final on clay and help continue her climb back up the rankings. If she can get past her opponent in this semi-final then a final against either Camila Osorio or Sara Errani awaits the in-form Czech.
Kamilla Rakhimova has been pushed to three sets in all her games in Bogota, but has come through them all. She has spent a lot longer time on court than her opponent, so is likely to be more tired, especially with playing three sets to a tie-break and another to 12 games in her final set against Cristina Bucsa in the quarterfinal, a match she won 0-6, 6-4, 7-5. The eighth seed is up against it in this game. Her stats do not compare favorably to Bouzkova's performance in this tournament so far. However, with both players harder court specialists than clay, this could be a game closer than those stats seem to suggest.
