Two former winners of this tournament, including the two-time holder, meet in the last of the quarterfinals. Colombia;s Camila Osorio will face Tatjana Maria with a semi final spot against either Irina Bara or Sara Errani awaiting the winner. The right-handed Colombian has moved up to 82nd in the live rankings based on her performances in Bogota this week where as the sixth seed she defeated qualifier Marina Stakusic 6-4, 6-2 and then wrapped up another straight sets win in the second round, beating Anca Todoni 7-6(4), 6-4. She won this tournament back in 2021 and she will enjoy plenty of home support as she takes on her German opponent, who won the 2022 and 2023 tournaments in Bogota.
As defending champion, Tatjana Maria came into the tournament as the second seed and immediately showed why she is a two-time champion of this event. She defeated a difficult first round opponent in Hungarian Anna Bondar 6-3, 6-2 and then faced Argentina's Julia Riera. Riera started well, winning the first set comfortably but the Champion then hit her stride and won the next two sets comfortably to record a 2-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory to earn a place in the quarterfinals. Her Quarterfinal spot in Bogota is Maria's best performance of the year so far. This will be the second match between the two women this year after Maria recorded a tough three-set victory in the first round of the Australian Open (1-6, 7-6(4), 7-5).
