Unseeded Magda Linette attempts to reach her first semi-final of the year. The Pole takes on the second seed Clara Tauson in the last eight of the Nottingham Open. Here's our prediction for this grass court match.
Linette has reached three WTA Tour quarter-finals this year but lost them all. This is her second grass court tournament of 2025 following last week's Libema Open. The 33-year-old lost in the first round of that tournament but is going much better this week.
Wins have come against Alexandra Eala and Mingge Xu, both in straight sets. Those victories have taken Linette to 29th in the live rankings. These two players met in the recent French Open on clay with Tauson winning but Linette winning a set.
Clara Tauson lost all three of the matches she played on grass last year. Her only wins on this surface had come in qualifying rounds. That form has been left behind by the Dane who is 23rd in the live rankings and 13th in the WTA Race.
This week has seen the 22-year-old defeat Kimberly Birrell and Anna Blinkova without losing a set but this looks a tough match for her against Linette.
