Madagascar are ranked 108th in the world and have never been higher than 74th (and that was 25 years ago). They weren't fancied at all to win a group that saw them up against Nigeria, Guinea and Burundi. A win over the latter named team was their aim to hopefully qualify as one of the best third placed teams. However, their campaign has gone beyond their dreams after coming into this tournament on a run of four defeats in five games. Their first group match saw them go 2-0 down to Guinea but they fought back in the second half to earn a point. Up next came the key game against Burundi and a goal 14 minutes from time gave them the three points. No one expected them to get anything against Nigeria who had won their first two group games. Madagascar caused a massive shock when beating the 45th ranked team 2-0 to finish top with seven points. Not bad for a team that had never previously qualified for the finals of the African Cup of Nations.

DR Congo are ranked 59 places above their opponents but struggled in their group games. Coming into the tournament they had only won one of their last nine games and that was against Liberia who are 153rd in the world. Their first group match saw them lose 2-0 to Uganda and another defeat by that scoreline followed as they were defeated by host nation Egypt. It all came down to their final group match and they beat Zimbabwe 4-0 with two goals from Cedric Bakambu. Madagascar certainly look to be playing the better of these two teams and a double chance bet on them to win or draw this game over 90 minutes is the suggested bet.
