It's another successful season for Lyon who are third in Ligue 1 and looking good to qualify for the Champions League next season. They have no hope of winning the league but a win in this game away to Rennes will see them through to the final of the French Cup. Lyon have only lost once in their last six league and cup games and that was away to Barcelona in the Champions League. Sunday saw them get their latest win in Ligue 1 and it just happened to be away at Rennes, their opponents in this semi-final. They won 1-0 with the winning goal coming just four minutes from time. Lyon have beaten two Ligue 1 sides to reach the last four (Amiens and Guingamp) and on home territory will be confident of victory.

Rennes recently got knocked out of the Europa League by Arsenal and it was their away form that cost them the tie. They are ninth in Ligue 1 and seven points away from the Europa League qualifying position. It's looking more and more likely that if they want European football next season, they will have to win the French Cup. Form isn't good though with two defeats and a draw in their last three games and only one of their last five league and cup away games have been won. Go for Lyon to get the win in this game to reach the final.
