The 20-10 Los Angeles Lakers will host the 24-8 Detroit Pistons in NBA action early on Wednesday morning. The Lakers are 5th in the West while the Pistons are leading the East ahead of our prediction on the game. 

This is the middle outing of a five-game homestand for the Lakers, a win and a loss so far. The success ended a three-game losing skid where their offence went missing completely, averaging 97.33 points in them.

They are 8-5 on their home court this season, overall they are 7-3 in their last 10 and 5-2 so far when they have taken on teams in the East. It is only the Miami Heat who have come visiting, their other six on the road, beating the Heat 130-120.

Detroit are 2-2 on their current road trip, falling to the Clippers already on their visit to Los Angeles. They took a loss in Utah against the Jazz prior to that, both of those teams not as strong as the Lakers are.

They were 7-1 against the West prior to the Jazz and Clippers losses, and will be looking forward to nine of their next 11 being at home after this contest. They will be much happier back at Little Caesars Arena.
