Sunday in Major League Baseball sees a west coast rivalry when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants in downtown LA for the final game of a four game series. The Dodgers are coming off a 4-2 victory in the last game and will be looking to complete the series sweep as their winning streak moves up to seven straight. The 2020 World Series champions have seen their record improve to 63-30 after a run of nine victories in the last 10 outings. Los Angeles holds the best record in the NL and will be competing with the Yankees and Astros for the best record in the big leagues as we continue into the second half of the season. Their opponents come into this game sitting third in the NL West with a 48-46 record which sees them trailing their rivals today by a massive 15.5 games. A win for San Francisco here would give them a nice boost before they head to Arizona to take on the last-placed Diamondbacks for a three game series.

Taking the mound for the home team is the legendary lefty Clayton Kershaw. The three-time Cy Young award winner is having an excellent season in his 15th year as a pro, racking up 7-2 record and an ERA of 2.13. Kershaw is coming off a vintage performance in his last outing, pitching eight shutout innings while only allowing a single hit on the way to a Dodgers 9-1 victory. Alex Cobb gets the start for the visiting Giants and is sporting a 3-4 record on the year with 4.09 ERA. The 34-year-old is coming off a fantastic start his last time out, going seven and a third innings while allowing only one run (zero earned runs) on just four hits in a 2-1 win over the Brewers. With the way both starters have been throwing it lately, we could be in for a low-scoring pitchers duel in this one.
