One of the oldest rivalries in Major League Baseball is set to be rekindled when the LA Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium. Both teams have experienced great starts to their 2022 season and are in a tight battle for the NL West along with the Padres. The Dodgers have a record of 14-7 and currently sit atop the division while the Giants only trail by a half game with a record of 14-8. Los Angeles are coming off a 6-3 away win against the Tigers on Sunday but have cooled off in the last week, with only two wins in their last five games after starting the season with a red-hot run. They’re coming up against a San Francisco team that lost 11-5 at home to the Nationals the last time out and have now lost three of their last four games.

LA is set to put out Julio Urias on the mound who will be looking to build on his breakout season last year, which saw the 25-year-old post a superb record of 20-3 and an ERA of 2.96. Urias has started the season fairly strongly and has recovered after a rough first start where he gave up six runs in his first two innings of the season. The Culiacan born Urias has now only let up two runs in his last 16 innings pitched and is coming off a six-inning, four strikeout and one earned run performance his last time on the mound against Arizona. The Giants will trot out Carlos Rodon who has had an excellent start to his eighth season in the Majors and looks to have carried over the form that earned him an All-Star nod and fifth place in the Cy Young voting last season. Rodon is 3-0 this year with a phenomenal 1.17 ERA in 23 innings pitched. The 29-year-old pitched six innings in his last appearance, striking out nine and giving up one run in a Giants win.
