The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to complete the sweep over the San Diego Padres for the fourth and final game when the two teams meet at Dodger Stadium on Sunday. Los Angeles got off to a fast start in yesterday’s game, scoring five runs in the first three innings which would eventually see them to 7-2 victory to win their third straight over the Padres. This is a big series for both teams, with the top spot in the NL West on the line. The recent wins mean the Dodgers improve their record to 48-29 and have built up their lead to 4.5 games over the second-place Padres. San Diego will be desperate to get a game back here to prevent the gap from widening even further as they’ve had to endure a tough run of form, losing seven of the last 10 games.

Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw takes the mound for the hosts, with the 34-year-old looking to build upon his 5-2 record and 2.94 ERA in what will be only his 10th start of the season. The three-time Cy Young award winner will hope to bounce back after a disappointing performance in the last outing where Kershaw gave up six earned runs in just four innings pitched. The lefty was looking strong before that start and had a 2.00 ERA heading into that game. He’ll come up against the Padres promising rookie lefty Mackenzie Gore, who is 4-3 on the year with a 3.34 ERA. Gore bounced back strongly with five innings of shutout pitching after a nightmare outing against the Rockies where he gave up eight earned runs in only four innings.
