Monday in Major League Baseball sees the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Pittsburgh Pirates with the home team looking to improve on their MLB best 33-14 record. The Dodgers have been rolling in recent games and are coming off a four game series sweep against the Diamondbacks after a 3-1 win their last time out. The visiting Pirates have a tough challenge ahead of them as LA has been dominant at home this season, racking up a 15-5 record at Dodger Stadium. Pittsburgh have had a tough start to the season and their 19-27 record places them third in the NL Central. They are coming off a three game series away from home against the Padres where the Pirates only managed to take one win, dropping their away record to 8-13 on the year. The Pirates have only managed to win four of their last 10 games while the Dodgers have ripped off eight wins from their last 10.

Coming off an all-star season last year, Dodgers righty Walker Buehler has had a fairly strong start to the 2022 season and will take the mound for the home team in this game. Buehler has a record of 6-1 with an ERA of 2.91 and he's coming off a six-inning outing in his last start, giving up three runs in a game that the Dodgers would eventually go on to win 9-4. For the Pirates, Zach Thompson gets the nod and the 28-year-old has been having his share of struggles in his second season in the big leagues. Thompson has a record of 2-4 and an eye-sore of an ERA at 5.50 through eight starts. After an impressive run of 16 innings pitched with only one run given up, Thompson got hit seven times and gave up four runs in his most recent start and only made it through three innings.
