Week six in the 2023 NFL regular season closes out with this Monday Night Football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers. The Cowboys are sitting second in the NFC East with a 3-2 record while the Chargers are also second in the AFC West at 2-2. Los Angeles lost by two points to the high-flying Dolphins to start the season which was followed by a narrow three-point loss to the Titans. After losing two close games to open the season, the Chargers look to be back on track with consecutive wins. Their time taking to the field was two weeks ago where they ran out 24-17 winners over the Raiders. Fourth-year quarterback Justin Herbert is off to a fine start after somewhat of a disappointing year last season. The 25-year-old has already racked up seven touchdowns on 1,106 yards and just one interception.

Despite this being an away game for the Cowboys, they’ll enjoy a majority support from the SoFi Stadium crowd. Dallas looked like Super Bowl contenders in the first two weeks of the season where they ran up a combined 70-10 score in wins over the Giants and the Jets. They recovered from a bad 28-16 loss against the Cardinals with a dominant 38-3 win over the Patriots in week four. The Cowboys will have to respond again after a humiliating 42-10 primetime loss to the Niners on Sunday Night Football last weekend. While it’s certainly a tough defeat, most teams will struggle against the elite 49ers defense. Additionally, Dallas have proven this year that they can put up points against strong defenses as they dropped 30 on the Jets and 38 on the Patriots. The Chargers will present much less resistance on that side of the ball, which should allow Dak Prescott and company a good bounce-back opportunity.
