Los Angeles Angels vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction & Betting Tips - MLB
by Joseph King | in MLB Prediction
The AL West fourth-place Los Angeles Angels host the AL Central second-place Cleveland Guardians for the final game on Thursday’s MLB card. It’s been a brutal run for the Angels over the last two weeks. They’re currently riding a six game losing streak ahead of this matchup and have only managed to win once in their last 10 overall. The Angels last outing saw them lose 10-3 at home to the Baltimore Orioles, completing the Os sweep of LA in their three game series. The hosts are 32-36 at Angel Stadium this season and they’ll be looking to end their losing run as they host Cleveland for the first of four games. The Angels will start this game with Griffin Canning who is 7-5 on the year with a 4.30 ERA. The 27-year-old went for six innings in his last outing against the As, giving up just two earned runs and striking out seven.
The visiting Guardians come into this one following a 2-1 win over the Twins in their last outing. The much-needed victory snapped a three game losing streak for Cleveland who were reeling after giving up 28 combined runs to Minnesota in the previous two games. The Guardians are still holding out hope of chasing down the Twins for the division crown as we approach the end of the season. As they currently sit six games behind their division rivals, they’ll likely need to sweep the Angels or win at least three games to make up ground. The Guardians will send Cal Quantrill to the mound for this trip. The 28-year-old is 2-6 on the season with an ERA of 6.16 through 14 starts. Quantrill has missed the majority of the last two months with shoulder soreness. His last start was on September 1st where he went six innings and gave up just two earned runs.

Our Los Angeles Angels vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction
While things have not gone well for the Angels in these last few weeks and the season as a whole, they do have the pitching advantage here. Canning has been in fine form and has put together two really impressive showings. Quantrill, on the other hand, has been battling injuries and has had a really difficult year overall. There’s value in fading the Guardians starter on the road here against an Angels lineup that is still very good at hitting righties. Our Los Angeles Angels vs Cleveland Guardians prediction is for the Angels to win.
