Italy finished with just a win in four matches in their UEFA Nations League group with three matches to go in the Euro 2020 qualifiers, they need just a point to be assured of a top place finish in Group J and a place at the 2020 Euro Championships. With the domination they have had in the qualifiers, they are all assured of the slot, having to play a side at the bottom of the group. Italy hit Liechtenstein 6 – 0 in the first leg meeting and have beaten two of the group’s other teams home and away – Greece and Finland. Italy have four clean sheets in the seven matches they have played in the qualifiers and have scored at least twice in each of the seven. They have straight wins in their last four away matches in all competitions. Italy are also unbeaten in their last 18 away matches in Euro qualifiers, drawing four and winning 14.

Liechtenstein on the other hand, have not tasted a win in their last 11 matches and the last time they won it was against Gibraltar, one of the weakest teams in Europe. They have two points in the current qualification matches and with no clean sheet in the last 11 matches across all competitions. In the last 13 Euro Championship qualifiers, Liechtenstein have not managed a win, just three points from draws. In 20 Euro qualification matches, they have just one win to show. It is not better when playing at home either, Liechtenstein are winless in the last nine Euro qualification matches at home. In three earlier meetings with Italy, Liechtenstein have not managed to get a goal and have conceded at least four goals in each of the three matches.
