Lazio are fifth in Serie A and only a point away from the Champions League qualification places. They have drawn three of their last four games but only one was played at home. Last weekend saw them come away from bottom side Chievo with only a point and had to come from behind to get the draw. Lazio also suffered a surprise away defeat at Apollon in the Europa League, again highlighting the inconsistency that often affects them on their travels. At home it's a different story with four wins from their seven league games. They have lost twice but those defeats were against top three sides Napoli and Inter. They have four wins from their last six home league games and will be looking to extend that good run.

Sampdoria are down in tenth in the table but only two points off the Europa League places. Their form has been inconsistent this season and although they have won their last two league games, they had failed to win any of the preceding five. Those two recent wins have come against SPAL and Bologna, who are both in the bottom six at present and were also both played at home. On their travels, Sampdoria have only one point from their last three games and one win in the last five. Their away form has been a problem for a while with 12 league defeats in the past year. This looks booked for a home win for Lazio.
