European Champions Portugal aren't having it all their own way in this World Cup qualifying group. Just weeks after winning the European title they lost their first qualifier away to Switzerland. They have had four convincing wins since then but are still three points behind the Swiss and are second best in the top runners-up list so they may well need a play-off to get to Russia next year. They certainly can't afford any slip-ups in Latvia while Switzerland travel to the Faroe Islands. Portugal beat Cyprus on Saturday with a 4-0 win despite the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo. They have scored 20 goals in their last five games and can score a few more here. Latvia are fifth in the group with just three points from their five games and no hope of making it to Russia next year. Just two goals and nine conceded so far in this group and they lost 4-1 away to Portugal in the reverse fixture. Five straight defeats and a sixth lies in wait here, go for Portugal on a -2 handicap.
