There are three British players in the last eight of the grass court Eastbourne Open. Qualifier Jan Choinski has a tough match against unseeded Zizou Bergs. The only grass court match played between them was won by Bergs in straight sets and our prediction is a similar result here.
The winner will be up against either eighth seed Juan Manuel Cerundolo or lucky loser Toby Samuel in the last four.
Jan Choinski is most at home on clay with one Challenger Tour title won this year. This is the first time in 2026 that he has made it past round one of an ATP Tour event. He had to win two qualifiers to get into this main draw and has since beaten Alexei Popyrin (in three sets) and Felix Gill.
He's played just over eight hours this week with four tie-breaks played.

Choinski is up to a career-high 100th in the rankings, 56 places below Bergs who has a 2-2 record on grass this year. Last week saw him take Taylor Fritz to three sets in Halle. He is yet to drop a set in Eastbourne with wins over Jaume Munar and Daniel Altmaier who retired in the second set.
