Algeria are bidding to reach their first African Cup of Nations semi-final since 2010 when they finished fourth. Before that you have to go back to the golden days of 1990 for their previous last four appearance when they went on to win the tournament. The Algerians won their group and did so with nine points and a 2-0 win over current favourites Senegal.  They are yet to concede a goal so far in this tournament and beat Guinea 3-0 in the last sixteen.

This will be a lot tougher for them though against an in-form Ivory Coast team who won this title four years ago. They have made it to at least the last four in four of the last seven tournaments. Ivory Coast have won three of their four games played so far. Their only defeat came against Morocco who have since been knocked out by Benin. Two of their three wins have been by the single goal in the match, their only loss was also a 1-0 scoreline. Algeria have produced the best result achieved by either of these teams, when beating Senegal 2-0. The tip here is for an Algerian victory.
