With both teams experiencing down seasons, a win could provide each with a much needed shot in the arm to potentially spark a second half of the season rally. The Steelers sit 3-7 on the season following their loss to the Bengals which puts them bottom of the AFC North. The Colts will be looking to close the gap on the Titans who top the AFC South. Indy has a record of four wins, six losses and a tie so far on the year.

They’ll be hoping for a positive reaction from their players who had previously put an end to a three game losing streak with their 25-20 win over the Raiders in week 10. The Colts are certainly not out of contention, as a run of a couple straight victories could see them catch up to the Tennessee Titans who have a record of seven wins and four losses. On the other side, the Steelers will clearly have one eye on next season as they are very unlikely to salvage anything from this season with their current record. Pittsburgh is coming off a 37-30 loss to the Bengals, their third defeat in the past four games.

Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett has shown improvement in the past two weeks, with the most recent loss to the Bengals seeing him post his highest quarterback rating of the season so far at 85.9. On the other side, veteran Colts quarterback and former league MVP Matt Ryan has seemingly regressed as he appears to be entering the twilight of his career. The 37-year-old has thrown for 10 touchdowns and nine interceptions on the season so far and has not been the missing piece that so many fans were anticipating to take the team over the hump.

The Steelers stifling run defense should force Matt Ryan to attempt to beat them through the air. Unfortunately for the four-time pro-bowler, Ryan has not been anywhere close to the consistent, highly productive quarterback that he was during his Atlanta Falcons days. The Colts inability to protect him could prove to be the difference here as the Steelers’ pass rush will likely give Matt Ryan a long day at the office. We’re going to take the Steelers on the +2.5 point spread to keep this one close, with a side bet on Pittsburgh to win outright also providing another attractive betting market.
