by Sridhar Bhamidi in Championship Predictions
Hull will hope they can turn the tide as they look to complete a first-ever league double over Blackburn Rovers. Their Championship match to be played at the MKM Stadium on Friday will be matchday 25 and likely to have an effect on the top-six race. Hull are 7th with 36 points and Blackburn are 15th with 31 points in what is proving to be a tight race for playoff spots. Hull are just outside the top-six on goal difference and only three behind fifth-placed West Brom. That said, with only three points separating them from the 14th-placed Middlesbrough, they can’t take things lightly. They have lost a bit of steam with two successive defeats, to Bristol City and Sunderland. The latter defeat would have rankled them the most, coming as it did against a direct top-six competitor and at home. Otherwise, Hull have four wins from their last six league matches at home and should be fairly confident of their chances here.
Blackburn are in the midst of an even worrying form, as they lost five of their last six Championship matches. The only win in this sequence was against Bristol City and the Rovers are carrying the baggage of three straight defeats. There still is time to cover the five-point deficit they currently have with top-six sides, but Blackburn need to get their game back on track. That would mean getting their away form mended, as Blackburn have lost their last three away league matches.
