Tampa Bay Buccaneers take on the Green Bay Packers with Tom Brady dreaming of another Super Bowl appearance. It's the NFC Championship match with the winners taking on either Buffalo Bills or defending champions Kansas City Chiefs next month. Tampa are the outsiders here and had to rely on a wild card just to get into the play-offs. They finished the regular season with an 11-5 record, finishing second behind the New Orleans Saints in the NFC South. That was a good performance considering at one stage they were 7-5. Four straight wins clinched second and they have continued that form in the play-offs. Wins have come against Washington and then fighting back to beat the Saints in the Divisional Play-off. That took them into this NFC Championship match against the Packers. Tampa have only once reached the Super Bowl, that was in 2003 when beating the Oakland Raiders.

Green Bay are the number one seeds in the NFC. They won NFC North with a 13-3 record, winning each of their final six games. The Divisional Play-off saw them defeat the LA Rams to set up this Championship match. Up against the best defence the Packers were able to get the win. They will want to do better against the Packers than earlier in the season. October saw Tampa Bay beat the Packers 38-10 at home. The Packers certainly won't forget the second quarter of that game as they lost it 28-0. That was followed by another ten points conceded in the third quarter, a total of 38 points in two quarters without reply, something the Buccaneers can only dream of. The Packers have improved a great deal since then and with home advantage and cold weather that won't delight their opponents, they can end the Brady dream and get the win here.
