Monday Night Football in the NFL sees the Green Bay Packers hosting the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams at Lambeau Field. What a difference a year makes. Last season, a matchup between these two sides would have been looked at as a clash of two Super Bowl favorites and a potential NFC Championship preview. In the 2022/23 campaign, however, it is between two teams sitting third in their respective divisions and who will almost certainly both miss the playoffs. It’s been a historically bad season for the Rams, who will likely go down as one of the worst defending champions in NFL history after having won just four of their 13 games so far. The Packers have not been much better and are following up a 13 win season in 2021/22 with just five wins from their 13 games.

The Rams are coming off a wild win with new quarterback Baker Mayfield at the helm in a 17-16 win over the Raiders thanks to a 14-point fourth quarter comeback. The win snapped an absurd six game losing streak for the defending champs but they enter this matchup as heavy underdogs. For the Packers, they are coming off a comeback win of their own after a 28-19 win over the Chicago Bears thanks to an 18-point fourth quarter. Part of the heavy point spread as to do with Los Angeles dealing with devastating injuries across many of their skill positions. Additionally, playing a December game at Lambeau is tough for any team, exponentially so for an indoor, warm-climate team. The Packers thrive in their home field advantage during cold games just like this one and we expect them to get the win here.
