Liverpool travel to Girona in one of the Champions League early kick-offs. The Reds can go five points clear at the top of the table if they win at Girona who are down in 30th place. Read our match prediction.
A place in the last 16 has already been confirmed for the English Premier League leaders who have won all five of their games in this season's Champions League and with just one goal conceded. This is their second successive Champions League game against a La Liga side. Last week saw them beat cup holders Real Madrid 2-0 at Anfield. Liverpool didn't play at the weekend due to their game at Everton being postponed.
Girona have only won one of their five Champions League games, losing the other four. They are three points adrift of the unseeded play-off positions and another loss here will put them in even deeper trouble. Can they get a second win?

Girona - Liverpool: Form Analysis
Liverpool have become the first side to qualify for the last 16 of this season's Champions League. The Reds have won all five of their games in this league phase, scoring 12 goals and conceding just one. That single goal conceded was scored in the third minute of their opening game at Milan. Their most recent Champions League game saw them beat Real Madrid 2-0 at home.
On the road, Liverpool have won both of their games. The 3-1 win at Milan was followed by a 1-0 victory at RB Leipzig. After this match, Liverpool still have Lille to play at home before an away match at PSV. They didn't play at the weekend and their last match saw them draw 3-3 at Newcastle United to remain top of the English Premier League. Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 17 league and cup games.
Girona are struggling to reach the play-offs.
Girona lost 3-0 at home to Real Madrid on Saturday. The White and Reds have just the one win so far, a 2-0 home win over Slovan Bratislava. Their other four matches have seen defeats to PSG, Feyenoord, PSV and Sturm Graz.
They have gone four games without a win, including being knocked out of the Copa del Rey by UD Logrones.

Girona & Liverpool Squad Analysis
Liverpool will be without Alexis Mac Allister who is suspended for this game away at Girona. The Reds have several other players missing for this match. Alisson Becker, Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas will all be absent.
They are likely to play Curtis Jones (who scored in their last match at Newcastle) in midfield alongside Ryan Gravenberch. Mohamed Salah is fit to play and is in excellent form at present.
Girona have several selection problems.
Girona definitely need to get something from this match. They will welcome back Arnau Martinez at right-back for this match against Liverpool. He missed their last Champions League game through suspension.
Not such good news for the La Liga side is the absence of winger Viktor Tsygankov who is out injured. He's likely to be replaced by Yaser Asprilla who used to play in England for Watford. Bryan Gil and Arnaut Danjuma are also in contention to start the game but Yangel Herrera is also out injured, as well as Bojan Miovski, who sprained an ankle in training.

Our Girona vs Liverpool Prediction
Girona are having a miserable campaign in this season's Champions League. They have only three points and are struggling to make it into the play-offs. Three of their last four games have seen them fail to score, including a Copa del Rey exit and 3-0 home loss to Real Madrid.
Liverpool will be thankful of the weekend off after their game at Everton was postponed. They are top of the Champions League and have not conceded in their last four games in this competition. Our main Girona v Liverpool prediction is Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals.
