Ireland are unbeaten in the five matches in Group D, picking 11 points and will be counting on this run of form to aid in their quest for a third straight appearance at the Euro finals. Their biggest advantage so far has been in defence, conceding just twice in the five qualification matches. Only Denmark and Switzerland, considered strong teams in the group, have scored against Ireland. Their big issue though is in the attack; they have scored just six in the five matches played. Ireland have no loss in their last eight matches across all competitions and have lost just once in the last 11. They have seven wins in 11 Euro qualification matches and just one loss in their last 13 qualification matches and are unbeaten in the last seven Euro qualification matches. In the last seven Euro qualifiers, Ireland have managed four wins, and clean sheets in the four. In six of the last seven qualification matches away from home, Ireland have not scored more than a goal but they have two draws and a win in their last three.

Georgia on the other hand, have one win in their last six matches and that came against the weakest team in the group – Gibraltar. A draw with Denmark at home in the last match will give them hope they have what it takes to handle the group leaders. They have also kept clean sheets in the last two matches in the qualifiers and as they meet a strong opponent they will hope to stand the test. Georgia have seven wins in their last 10 home matches across all competitions but most of the opponents can’t match Ireland’s quality. In their last five Euro qualifiers at home, Georgia have lost just once and won three while keeping four clean sheets. The last time Georgia hosted Ireland, the match ended in a 1 – 1 draw but in the 10 matches between the two sides, Georgia have never picked a win, while Ireland have nine.
