Racing Genk won the Jupiler League last season, their first title since 2011. The main season ended with a seven point lead and after the Championship Group, they finished two points clear and the title was won. Their pre-season form has been highly impressive with their first four friendlies all won with 24 goals scored. Last weekend saw them win the Belgian Super Cup as Genk defeated Belgian Cup winners Mechelen 3-0. Since then they have lost a friendly away at Westerlo but come into this new season in good shape. They have gone eight home league games without defeat and only lost two on home soil last season. 

Kortrijk finished eight in the main league last season 20 points behind their opponents in this game. That took them into the Europa League Group but they eventually lost in the play-off sem-finals. They have had a mixed pre-season with three wins in friendlies followed by two draws and then two defeats. Their final warm-up game was a 4-0 home win over Dutch side Excelsior. Away form last season saw them win only two of their last six league games  Genk have been in good form in their pre-season with lots of goals scored, go for them to get their new league season off to a winning start.
