It's been a week of surprises at the Swiss Open that is being played in Gstaad. Second seed Alexander Bublik takes on seventh-seeded Francisco Comesana. This quarter-final is the only one contested by two seedsHere's our match prediction.
Unseeded opposition will be faced in the last four of this outdoor clay court tournament. That will be either Arthur Cazaux or Jerome Kym.
Bublik is up to 33rd in the live rankings and chasing a seeding at the upcoming US Open. A good run this week will boost those chances and so far he's had a straight sets win over Alexander Shevchenko.
That took his 2025 clay court record to 16-6. Highlights include a run to the last eight at Roland Garros and winning the Turin Challenger.
In the live rankings, Francisco Comesana is 72nd and that's 11 places below his career-high. The 24-year-old has won 17 of his 28 clay court matches played this year. This is his third ATP Tour quarter-final of the year on this surface with a best of a Rio semi-final.
One clay court Challenger title has also been won by Comesana this year. So far in Gstaad, he has two straight sets victories but this is tougher.
