Both nations are coming from slim wins in their previous Euro 2020 qualification matches. Turkey beat Albania 1 – 0 at home as France picked a 1 – 0 win away to Iceland. They are tied at 18 points, each having lost once so far. Both these sides have managed eight wins in their last 10 matches. Turkey have scored in each of their last nine matches while France have failed to score in one of their last nine matches. France have won each of their last six home matches, and they are unbeaten in their last 16 matches at home. In nine home matches, France have scored two goals or more and they have four clean sheets in the last five home matches. The last team to beat France at home in Euro qualifiers was Albania, in 2010. They are now unbeaten at home in seven qualification matches, six of which are wins. In the three home matches in the current campaign, France have managed to score three or more goals per game.

Turkey have not been scoring as many goals as France but they have been sturdy in defence; in the last three matches, they have not conceded a goal. With three wins in 11 away matches across all competitions, Turkey will not be very happy with the stats on that front. In Euro Championships qualifiers though, Turkey have four wins in their last five. However, the quality of opposition has not been as strong as one would expect from France, and especially when they are playing at home. Wins over Moldova, Albania, Czech Republic and Kazakhstan are the only ones Turkey have managed in 13 away matches in Euro Championships qualifiers. The 2 – 0 win over France was the first in five meetings with the world champions; they had lost all the earlier four.
