World champions France are looking to mount a successful defence on their Nations League title this season. They start off this campaign with a home game, against another tough side, Denmark. France have seven straight wins ahead of this game; their most recent, a 5-0 victory over South Africa in a friendly game in March. They are unbeaten in their last nine matches and their only loss in 20 games was on post match penalties against Switzerland in the Euro 2021 finals. France have scored two or more goals in eight of their last 10 matches; in the last five matches alone, they have scored 19 goals and conceded just two. Their leading forwards Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema have also had great seasons. The two bring forth great firepower in attack and will pose a constant threat to the Danes.

Denmark’s last outing ended in a 3-0 win over Serbia in an international friendly match played in March. They have three wins and two losses in their last five matches, and they’ve scored two or more goals in three of their last four matches. The Danes have three losses in the last five away matches and they’ve conceded two or more goals in those losses. Their two clean sheets in the last five away matches have been against lowly ranked nations, Moldova and Faroe Islands. Against France, away from home, it will be a daunting task. In the last meeting between these two nations, at the 2018 World Cup, it ended 0-0 but in the earlier three matches, Denmark lost to France, conceding twice in each.
