Everton welcome Fulham at Goodison Park on Tuesday for their League Cup quarterfinal tie. Fulham advanced to this round at the expense of Ipswich Town while Everton overpowered Burnley. Everton were at home in the previous round and scored three without reply against Burnley. The win allowed them to advance to the last eight for the third time in the last five seasons. They will now seek to advance to the semifinals for the first time since the 2015/16 season. With the form they are in at the moment, Sean Dyche’s men will be confident of earning this feat. Everton have won four straight games which has been the perfect response to their Premier League points deduction. This has allowed them claw their way out of the relegation zone. The Toffees, who haven’t conceded in this impressive run, defeated Burnley 2-0 away from home over the weekend. It is however worth noting that changes are likely to be made to the playing squad for this match.

Fulham are in this stage of the competition for the first time in almost 20 years. They last played a League Cup quarter-final tie in the 2004/05 season. The London club earned this feat by defeating high-flying Championship side Ipswich 3-1 away from home. But since that victory they have stuttered and have lost four of their last seven fixtures. The Cottagers suffered a 3-0 loss in their last outing away to Newcastle that ended a two-match winning run. Marco Silva’s men will be keen to bounce back and their recent history against Everton will have them confident of this. Fulham haven’t lost in four meetings with Everton and have won three times. All three victories have come at Goodison Park. Fulham will be without Raul Jimenez as the striker will be suspended due to his sending-off against Newcastle United.
