Suzan Lamens is relishing her return to grass after ending the clay court season with three successive losses. Now the Dutch player is giving her home fans plenty to cheer about with this run to the last eight in Hertogenbosch. This is her first ever grass court quarter-final.

It’s not been easy though for the 25-year-old. It took three sets to beat Yanina Wickmayer and then she beat Ann Li without dropping a set. Two tie-breaks were needed to win that match. Lamens is now 68th in the live rankings.

Elisabetta Cocciaretto has reached this quarter-final without dropping a set. Wins have come against Arianne Hartono and Bernarda Pera. Three of the four sets played by the Italian have ended either 7-5 or 7-6.

Cocciaretto is 110th in the live rankings and has won five of her last six grass court matches. Last year saw her make it to the last four in Birmingham and another good start has been made to a grass court campaign. We tip her to win this match.
