Round two of the Carabao Cup will conclude with Doncaster playing host to Everton on Wednesday night. The hosts are currently at the bottom of the League Two table, while the visitors are at the bottom of the Premier League. Doncaster have been woeful this season and come into this fixture following a 2-1 loss to MK Dons over the weekend. That was their fourth loss in five league matches this term, along with a 2-2 draw against Mansfield Town in between. As it stands, Doncaster are the only team in League Two that is yet to win a match this season. They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their last seven competitive matches. The only positive for the Rovers this season was their 2-1 win over Hull City in the first round of this competition. Still, they will know that Everton are having struggles of their own. If they can get an early goal here, they will be in a very good position to send another higher-league opponent packing. 

Meanwhile, after a disastrous 2022-23 campaign, Everton look like they may be in big trouble again this season. The Toffees come into this match following three consecutive losses in their first three matches in the league. They are currently at the foot of the Premier League and have failed to score a single goal as yet this term while conceding six. While most Premier League sides may have the luxury of rotating players in this round of the competition, Sean Dyche may not have the same privilege. He will need the game time for his players and will know the possible impact on his player's morale if they were to lose this match. Therefore, we could see one or two changes, but it wouldn’t surprise us if the Everton boss opted for a full-strength outfit to start. The visitors need an early goal to settle the nerves in the camp, and if they get it, they could go on to a comfortable victory.
