Diana Shnaider vs Donna Vekić Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Berlin Open

Donna Vekic begins her 2025 grass court campaign but has a tough first round match in Berlin.  The Croatian faces fellow unseeded player Diana Shnaider who is the world number 12. Here's our match prediction.

This is a WTA 500 tournament and the winner of this match will face either seventh seed Madison Keys or unseeded Marketa Vondousova in round two. if it's Keys who makes it through then that will give Shnaider the chance of revenge if also progressing.

That's because last week saw the Russian beaten by Keys in the Queen's Club quarter-final. The 21-year-old is 1-1 in previous matches with Vekic. One of those matches was on grass with Vekic getting a three-set win last year on her way to winning the Bad Homburg title.

Donna Vekic is 22nd in the live rankings but has been struggling for consistency this year. Only eight of her 22 matches played in 2025 have been won.  Vekic will hope a return to grass will boost her form. Last year saw her get to the semi-finals at Wimbledon.

Four of her last five matches Vekic has played have been lost with three of those going to a final set. This could be another close match between these two players. We tip over 20.5 games to be played.
