It’s been a worrying week or so for Denmark with a dispute over commercial rights payments. They had to play a team of third/fourth tier and Futsal players in the 3-0 defeat by Slovakia but it’ll be their strongest team out for their opening European Nations League game at home to Wales. Denmark reached the last sixteen of the World Cup and held both the eventual finalists to draws over 90 minutes before losing to Croatia on penalties. With Wales already having three points in this group, they can’t afford to lose this match or dreams of being promoted to League A will start to fade. Home form is strong with no defeats in the past two years (that’s ignoring a non-FIFA friendly loss to Jordan) but there’s been a lack of goals with the loss to Slovakia ending a run of eight games with under 2.5 goals in them.

Wales played their first competitive game under new boss Ryan Giggs on Thursday as they hosted the Republic of Ireland in the opening match of this group. They put on a strong attacking performance winning 4-1 and avoiding defeat in this game is going to do wonders for their promotion hopes. Wales reached the last four at Euro 2016 but failed to build on that by failing to qualify for the World Cup finals. They only lost one of their group games but drew five out of ten, though a draw here wouldn’t be that bad a result. The tip here is to go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in this match.
