Czech Republic failed in their bid for a place at the 2022 World Cup after falling to Sweden in the playoff semi finals. They will be gunning for a good start to the Nations League as they play host to Switzerland on Match Day 1 in League A Group 2. Czech Republic go into this game without a win in their last two matches; after a 1-0 loss to Sweden, they drew 1-1 with Wales in an international friendly. However, they have three clean sheets in the last five matches though these were against low-ranking Estonia, Kuwait and Belarus. They have no loss at home in the last five matches, but none of those teams they played is as strong as the Swiss, a team they last faced in 2008.

The Swiss secured their place in the 2022 World Cup much earlier and this will be their first competitive game of 2022. The Swiss are vulnerable though; in their last five matches, they’ve conceded in three games, and away from home they have no clean sheet in their last two matches. In their only competitive meeting with Czech Republic, Switzerland lost 1-0, back in 2008.
