Title chasing Cruzeiro will be hosting Santos in a Brazilian Serie A encounter this Sunday. The two sides occupy opposite ends of the league standings, Cruzeiro being second and Santos 15th. They will, however, have the same target for this match, and below we have a prediction.

Cruzeiro have managed to rise from a stumble that saw them go winless in three matches across all competitions. They are coming off a 2-0 win against CRB in the Brazilian Cup and had earlier seen off Botafogo 2-0.

Their latest clean sheet was the sixth in the last seven matches, and in the league they are among the best defensive sides.

From their opening 17 matches, Santos have lost more than they've won. Though they have risen off the relegation region, nine defeats in the league so far could be a sign of a tough campaign ahead.

For now though, they are celebrating their fifth league win of the season. Inspired by Neymar, Santos beat struggling Juventude 3-1. The Brazilian international scored twice, but his 52nd-minute booking meant he will miss this match.

Having failed to score in three of the last six away games, Neymar’s influence will be missed. The team has suffered seven defeats in 10 away league matches.
