Scotland had a recovery of sorts in their second game of Euro 2020, drawing with England after their opening loss to Czech Republic. They will be back at Hampden Park in Glasgow to take on Croatia in a game neither side can afford to lose. Both sides have a point from their opening two matches and a draw won’t do either side any good. Croatia had their reservations over the penalty awarded to Czech in their last game but they rallied to draw 1-1. Now, to be able to get their spot in the second round, they have to beat a side they’ve never beaten before. In five matches against Scotland, Croatia have two losses and no win. The last time they met was however eight years ago, and that ended 2-0 in Scotland’s favor. Going to this game Croatia have no win in their last four matches and have failed to score in two of their last three. The last time they had a comfortable outing was against Malta in the World Cup qualifiers in March, a game they won 3-0. That remains one of their two wins in the last 11 matches and they have just two clean sheets in 18.

Scotland are still in search of their first goal in this competition, going to the third game. They’ve been short in that area, but here they’ll have to do some adjustments as this for them is a must win game. They go to the clash straight from a 0-0 draw with England and should take motivation from the performance in that game, especially defensively. Ahead of this tournament, Scotland had scored in five straight games and this is what they will look to inject in this clash. However, they haven’t had many comfortable moments either, their only one in the last 10 coming against Faroe Islands in a 4-0 win. Scotland have two outright wins in the last 10 matches and in only three of their last 13 have they scored two or more goals. At home, they have six wins in their last nine matches and with home fans attending, they will be looking to make an impression in the final group game.
