England finished second in their group after losing their final game 1-0 to Belgium. Gareth Southgate made several changes for that game with qualification already in the bag and the big guns such as Kane, Sterling and hopefully Alli will be back for this last sixteen clash with Colombia. England impressed many in their opening two games but they were only against Tunisia and Panama and it's a shame we didn't get to see them play Belgium in one of their first two games as that would have seen stronger sides being played and a better idea of how England can cope against the best sides. They have a great goal scorer in Harry Kane with five in his first two matches and he'll have had a good rest before this match. England have played Colombia on five previous occasions winning three and drawing two and will be hopeful of keeping that unbeaten record.

The Colombians didn't get off to a great start in the 2018 World Cup having a player sent off inside three minutes and losing 1-0 to Japan. They bounced back with a good 3-0 win over Poland but weren't so impressive in their final game despite eventually beating Senegal 1-0. Before those two wins Colombia had gone three matches without a win. They finished fourth in the South American qualifying group but three points less would have seen them down in seventh and they failed to get an away win against any of the teams that finished in the top six. Colombia have kept four clean sheets in their last five games but they may be without their captain James Rodriguez for this match. Only once have they reached the quarter finals and that was in 2014. England can get the win in this game though it may take a while to breach an often stubborn Colombian defence..
