We've reached the last eight of the Copa Libertadores tournament with Olimpia from Paraguay hosting Flamengo in the first leg. The home side are ninth in their domestic league and come into this match having lost their last two matches. Olimpia finished second behind Internacional in their group finishing just ahead of Deportivo Tachira. In the last sixteen, they took on Internacional again and both legs ended goalless with Olimpia winning a penalty shoot-out. Two of their last three games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them.

Now they take on another Brazilian side in the last eight. Flamengo are the fifth seeds for the knockout stages, compared to Olimpia's 16th. The Brazilians won the Copa Libertadores in 2019 but lost in the last sixteen in 2020. They finished top of their group this year, winning three and drawing three of their matches. The last sixteen saw them beat Defensa y Justica 5-1 on aggregate but the away leg was only won 1-0. Flamengo have won Serie A for the past two seasons and are fifth this season, ten points behind the leaders with two games in hand. The weekend saw them lose 4-0 at home to Internacional who were in the bottom half of the table. They have only scored one goal in their last two matches.
