Chicago Cubs sit proudly at the top of the National League Central with a 31-21 season record. They bid to get another win when hosting the Minnesota Twins, who are second in the American League Central. The Cubs have a 19-13 home record this season and look to get back into winning ways after losing to the Twins 8-1 on September 19. They had beaten them 1-0 in the previous game though and that weekend loss ended a run of five straight wins. Home form is strong and they have the squad to get the win here as they prepare for the play-offs.

The Twins have a 32-22 season record after that win on the 19th. They are second in their division, just two wins behind the Chicago White Sox. That second place is mainly down to their home record that has seen them win 21 out of 26 games. On the road it's a different story with 11 wins and 17 defeats.  They have had a tough fixture list of late with three losses in four games to the White Sox seriously damaging their hopes of winning the American League Central. That's been followed by a loss and a win against the Cubs. The 8-1 win confirmed that the Twins will be in the play-offs so that's one worry out of the way. That qualification may well take the pressure off them now and their away form is inconsistent. Go for the Cubs to get the win here.
