Chelsea will look for a winning start in the 2024–25 Conference League campaign when they host Servette in the play-off round. The first leg will be played at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, with our prediction favoring a win for the home team in both halves.
The winners of this two-legged tie advance to the league phase, while the losers will be out of Europe for this season. Chelsea have reason and hope to believe they can advance as they begin their maiden Conference League campaign. That said, the Blues were underwhelming in their season opening match, losing 2-0 to Manchester City.
The hosts still look unsettled under new coach Enzo Maresca, who will hope that his team can brush off that loss to City. Interestingly, their passage to this year’s competition was earned by a run of five straight wins to finish the previous season’s Premier League. Servette qualified for the Europa League last season and then dropped to the Conference League round of 16. This year too, they qualified for the Europa League third qualifying round but lost 2-1 on aggregate to Braga.
The defeat to Braga in the second leg was preceded by a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Basel in the Super League, which meant they conceded nine goals in their last three matches. Their matches in this competition have been low on entertainment otherwise, as Servette have seen under 2.5 goals scored in their four Conference League matches played last year.

Our Chelsea vs Servette Geneva Prediction
After a losing start to their Premier League 2024–25 campaign, big-spending Chelsea will look at this match as a chance to bounce back. The Blues ended last season with five wins out of five and three of those have seen them win both halves. That looks like an interesting option considering the low value of backing Chelsea for a win. Servette have struggled recently and the quality in Chelsea ranks could be one step too many for them. Our prediction for Chelsea v Servette is a win for Chelsea at half-time and full-time.
