Hosts Cameroon have so far lived to the billing as AFCON 2021 favorites. They will face Egypt in the semis, in a repeat of the 2017 final, which they won against all odds. Cameroon are unbeaten in this competition so far, and unlike Egypt, they have scored in each of their matches. They’ve managed two or more goals in four of their five games, the only time they failed to hit at least two goals being in the 1-1 draw with Cape Verde. By then they had already secured their place in the knockouts. Their main concern going into this game will be the fact that they have just one clean sheet in the competition. That clean sheet came in their quarter final match, a 2-0 win over debutants Gambia, and in the previous four matches, both sides scored.
Matches pitting Egypt and Cameroon have always been high-octane. Egypt have been the dominant, winning four of the last five, but both teams have scored in six of their last seven meetings. Going to this game, Egypt have shown great solidity in defence, keeping three clean sheets in their five matches at the tournament. However, despite having one of the best forwards in the world, they haven’t done so well in attack. On only one occasion have they managed more than a goal and twice in the five matches they’ve failed to score. Coming into this game, Egypt’s last two matches have gone into extra time and one of them even proceeded to post match penalties. For the Pharaohs, this is the best chance to avenge their loss in the 2017 final.

Our Cameroon vs Egypt Prediction
Cameroon have been lethal in attack in this competition, but have left a lot of questions in defence. They have just one clean sheet, though they’ve scored in all their five matches, on four occasions two or more goals. For Egypt, they’ve been good defensively but a bit shaky in attack, which has seen them keep three clean sheets, but scored more than one goal in just one of their five matches. Their matches against Cameroon rarely end in clean sheets though, and we expect the same for both sides here. Back both teams to score.
