Bulgaria lost 3-1 at home to Switzerland as they started their 2022 World Cup qualification campaign and now they have the chance at home again, to make up for the loss, when they host Italy in Group C. Bulgaria are ranked 58 places lower than Italy and thus will be aiming at shocking their visitors. However, they do not have a very good run of form going here, with just one win in 10 matches, and seven losses. That win was their fourth straight and they also have four straight clean sheets. The team has no loss in the last 23 matches and has scored two or more goals in five of the last seven matches. In total, their last seven matches have produced 17 goals, with only one conceded. Away from home, they have five straight clean sheets and are unbeaten in nine, with eight wins therein. Italy have only lost twice in their last 19 away World Cup qualification matches, winning 10.
