French giants PSG have been crowned French Cup winners in five of the last six seasons and they’ll be going for it again this season. They travel away to Brest in the quest for a last 16 slot and are firm favorites to progress. Brest brought to an end a three game winless run in their last match, beating Dijon 3-1 and with a mid table finish in Ligue 1 seeming assured, it is in this competition that they can bag silverware. A lot is expected of them here, even though they are outright underdogs, especially seeing that they only have four wins in their last 15 matches. the hosts have three wins in their last five home matches though, and each of the five has produced three goals or more. Steve Mounie and Irvin Cardona have collectively scored six times for Brest in their last five home matches and are expected to be on show here again. In two of their last three French Cup matches, Brest met Ligue 1 sides and they lost on both occasions.

Kylian Mbappe is available for this game after suspension but Mauricio Pochettino has learnt from the last cup game and could leave him out. PSG have two losses in their last 15 matches. The last time they met Brest, they won 3-0, their eighth win in nine matches over Brest. The other game ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving Brest winless in this fixture. The Ligue 1 giants have seven straight wins in this competition. Their only loss in 37 French Cup matches came against Rennes in April 2019, on post match penalties after a 2-2 draw. Four of their last six opponents were Ligue 1 sides and PSG emerged winners, stamping their dominance in the competition.
