Day 5 at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship will kick off with Brendan Dolan taking on Tavis Dudeney. The winner of this match between The History Maker and The Dude will meet Ryan Searle in the second round. Let’s get into the match prediction.
Brendan Dolan has been a near-constant at the World Championships for well over a decade. His best performances here were reaching the quarter-finals in 2019 and 2024.
The History Maker has not won a major title this year, but he was the runner-up at the Players Championship 16, where he lost to Ross Smith in the final, and a quarter-finalist at PC9.
Dolan lost to Daryl Gurney in the first round of the PC finals last month and has four wins in his last 10 matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Tavis Dudeney secured his place at the Ally Pally by winning one of the final Tour Card Holder Qualifiers in Leicester. He will be making his Worlds debut this year.
The Dude’s standout results this year came on the Development Tour, including a victory at Event 23 over Jurjen van der Velde. His Q-School victory was his most important result in 2025.
Dudeney’s last match was against Dolan at PC34, which he lost 6-2. He lost nine of his last 10 matches in the Players Championship.
