Bournemouth plays host to Everton at the Vitality Stadium for this all Premiership clash third round match in the League Cup. The home team are currently in 16th position in the league with 13 points. Bournemouth are having a horror run in the league as they have lost their last four matches. Their loss in the last match against Leeds will be particularly disappointing as they led 3-1 only to concede three goals thereafter to lose the match 4-3. Bournemouth will be hoping for a change in fortunes in this competition although they struggled to beat Championship side Norwich in the previous round. They have only had one win in their last eight matches with four losses and three draws. Bournemouth have won just three of their 14 league matches this season. Their home record is equally poor with one win in their last six games.

Everton's poor season got even worse after they lost 2-0 to Leicester in their last match and as a result the Foxes have climbed above them on the league table albeit only on goal difference. The pressure will be mounting on manager Frank Lampard as his team have only won one of their last six matches with four losses and a draw. A victory in this match will be the best way to ease some pressure. They will take some confidence from the fact that they won their match in the previous round also away from home. Everton have however been woeful on the road in the league, winning just one of their away matches this season.
