Serie A leaders Inter bid to win a ninth straight league game. They begin the weekend six points clear and travel to 11th placed Bologna looking for a 21st league win of the season. Second placed Milan play before this match, a home win over Sampdoria will close the gap to just three points. Inter just keep on winning but needed a late goal to get a 2-1 win at relegation-threatened in their last match. The league leaders have only lost one away league match this season, a defeat at Sampdoria in January. Since then, they have won drawn two but won the last four in a row. Inter have won four of their last five away league visits to Bologna and beat them 3-1 in this season's reverse fixture.

Bologna are 16 points off the final European qualifying position but a healthy 12 above the bottom three. They have won their last two league games beating Sampdoria at home and then bottom-of-the-table Crotone 3-2 away. They had to come from 2-0 down in that match to get the win. Three of their last five home league games have been won, including a win over sixth placed Lazio. Milan did get a recent win at Bologna, so that's a good yardstick. With only two home clean sheets in the last eight, Inter can take advantage of the Bologna defence and get an important win.
