Bayer Leverkusen reached the last sixteen of the Champions League this season but won't be gracing European competition next season. They start this game in 12th place but are only four points above the relegation zone. They host Schalke who lost in the Europa League quarter finals last week but are only 11th in the Bundesliga and six points clear of the bottom three. Leverkusen have only won one of their last 11 games and that was against bottom of the table Darmstadt. Their win before that one was against Augsburg who are also in the relegation zone so they are having a rough time of it. At home they have won five, drawn five and lost five but have drawn the last three including a goalless draw with champions elect Bayern Munich. Schalke have been having problems in the Bundesliga all season after a terrible start. They have only won one of their last five league games and that was against struggling Wolfsburg. Away from home Schalke have just two league wins and 11 goals with defeats in three of their last four matches. It's a vital game for both sides but neither are in good form. Go for Bayer to either win or draw.
